With a BMW MOA Roadside Relief Refund, you are covered on the road. The Roadside Relief Refund allows for up to $250 in eligible expenses to be reimbursed for two incidents per year, no matter what method you choose to solve your problem. There are no hoops, rings, or pre-authorization. Just submit your claim online within seven days of incurring the expense, and you get paid – up to $250 depending on the plan. It’s the easiest way to turn your frown upside down!

The Roadside Relief Refund is modeled after our improved Tire Hazard Protection plan that achieved a 100% satisfaction rating since 2024. MOA members covered by the Roadside Relief Plan can be reimbursed for towing-related expenses. Basic plan members can receive up to $100 in reimbursement per incident, while Enhanced and Platinum members receive up to $250 in reimbursement. All plans allow for two incidents or reimbursements in a 12-month period. The Platinum Roadside Relief Plan includes coverage for two tire replacements per year.
Platinum membership is only $139, including your standard $59 MOA membership fee. Existing MOA members can upgrade online at the expiration of their current term or contact the membership team at 864-438-0962 during business hours to upgrade now. If you are currently an MOA member with Roadside Relief coverage, please call the towing provider of your choice. Once your problem is resolved, collect a receipt from the towing provider and file a claim on the claims page. Provide a short narrative of the incident and a photo of the towing solution. We’ll take care of the rest.

The Fine Print
BASIC ROADSIDE RELIEF PLAN
Coverage for two towing events per year and up to $100 in reimbursement per event
- The Basic Roadside Relief Plan provides for reimbursement of towing-related expenses to covered members, up to $100 per claim, for a maximum of two claims in a 12-month period.
- Reimbursement from the Roadside Relief Fund will be provided for towing-related expenses documented with legitimate receipts from towing and/or equipment providers. Eligible expenses include towing company charges, rental truck expenses, rental trailer expenses, labor/provider expenses associated with the actual towing/recovery of a covered motorcycle. Other expenses may or may not be eligible at the discretion of the Roadside Relief Refund.
- Towing, recovery or a solution to get you off the roadside may be completed by any qualified means necessary to the member’s satisfaction. Members may utilize any provider or means necessary to complete the recovery/towing/transport of the motorcycle to the location of their choice and submit for reimbursement.
- Expenses submitted for reimbursement must be strictly related to the towing/recovery of the motorcycle and clearly documented with receipts to legitimate providers. Handwritten receipts, credit card statements, bank statements, etc. will not be accepted as proof of expense. Receipts will be deemed legitimate at the sole discretion of the Roadside Relief Refund.
- Requests for reimbursement must be submitted within seven (7) days of the date indicated on any receipts submitted for reimbursement.
- New policyholders are subject to a 30-day waiting period from the date of purchase before coverage begins. Renewing customers without a lapse in coverage are not subject to the 30-day waiting period and enjoy continuous coverage.
- This is not a Motorcycle/Automobile Liability Insurance Contract.
- This is not a Motorcycle/Automobile Physical Damage Insurance Contract.
- A covered motorcycle must be inoperable to qualify for reimbursement. Coverage is not provided for general towing of a motorcycle for convenience, relocation, buy, sell, transfer or other circumstance unrelated to a mechanical/physical issue which prevents operation of the vehicle.
ENHANCED ROADSIDE RELIEF PLAN

Eligible expenses include towing company charges, rental truck expenses, rental trailer expenses, labor/provider expenses associated with the actual towing/recovery of a covered motorcycle. TIRE HAZARD PROTECTION PLAN
Coverage for two tire replacement events per year up to $250 per event
- The Tire Protection Plan provides for reimbursement of expenses related to the repair or replacement of the vehicle’s tires that become unserviceable due to a road hazard covered under the plan. Unserviceable means that the tire has been punctured
or otherwise damaged to the extent that it is unsafe. A road hazard is a condition on a public roadway that should not exist there, such as potholes, nails, glass, or other road debris.
FLAT TIRES: You will be reimbursed for the reasonable costs you incur to repair a flat tire caused by a road hazard while operating the vehicle on public streets and in a legal manner.
TIRE REPLACEMENT: You will be reimbursed for the reasonable costs you incur to replace a tire up to $250 per tire (inclusive of mounting, balancing and taxes), (maximum of two tires per contract year), only if the tire becomes unrepairable due to damage
caused by a road hazard. This coverage is valid through the tread life of a tire (for motorcycles, 2/32″ or less is excluded) and replacement will be made with a tire of like kind and quality to the original tire.
MOUNTING AND BALANCING: You will be reimbursed for the reasonable costs that you incur for mounting, balancing, valve stems, and tire disposal for any tire replaced under this Agreement (up to $250 Tire Replacement Limit);
TAXES : You will be reimbursed for the cost of local and state taxes, as directed by state agencies for any tire replaced under this Agreement (up to $250 Tire Replacement Limit).
- Reimbursement from the Roadside Relief Fund will be provided for the reasonable costs you incur to replace a tire up to $250 per tire (inclusive of mounting, balancing, and taxes), for a maximum of two tires in any 12-month period, only if a tire becomes unrepairable due to damage caused by a road hazard. This coverage is valid through the tread life of a tire (for motorcycles, 2/32″ or less is excluded) and replacement will be made with a tire of like kind and quality to the original tire. Damage from natural debris on unpaved roads is not considered a road hazard and does not qualify for replacement (ie, damage caused by rocks, roots, stumps, sticks, etc., while off-road riding is not covered.)
- Towing-related expenses are NOT COVERED under the Tire Hazard Protection plan.
- Expenses submitted for reimbursement must be strictly related to the repair or replacement of the motorcycle tire and clearly documented with receipts to legitimate retailers and/or service providers. Handwritten receipts, credit card statements,
bank statements, etc. will not be accepted as proof of expense. Receipts will be deemed legitimate at the sole discretion of the Roadside Relief Refund. - Requests for reimbursement must be submitted within seven (7) days of the date indicated on any receipts submitted for reimbursement.

Tire Replacement Claims Procedure
Tire claims must be documented with the following information:
- Proof of loss by submitting a complete claim form within seven days of the date of loss. Claim forms may be submitted online, by calling the MOA membership team at (864) 438-0962 or emailing tireclaims@bmwmoa.org. The MOA in its sole discretion, may
determine the amount and type and of information necessary to validate a claim. - A completed receipt, repair order or other documentation to verify purchase of a replacement tire and justify any costs claimed for reimbursement. The receipt or repair order must show line item detail of costs claimed on the reimbursement.
- A brief narrative of the damage to the tire, what caused the damage and the method of repair.
- Proof or documentation of the damage, including photographs of the damage, debris, etc.
- Tread depth measurement to validate the remaining life of the damaged tires (damaged tire must have a minimum of 3/32″ of tread depth to qualify for replacement)
- Access to the service center to independently verify any information in the claim
- Retention of the damaged tire for inspection by the MOA to validate claims.
