About Streetmasters

Walt Fulton III, Nancy Foote and members of their experienced staff will be conducting half-day training sessions for rally participants on Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings.

Training workshops will be held each day of the Rally from 8am to 12pm. Each class will begin with one hour of fast-paced classroom and discussion on mastering the “delayed late-apex” technique of cornering. After the classroom instruction, each participant will ride their own motorcycle in the precision exercises on a course at the rally site. If you ride two-up, be sure to include your pillion for no additional charge.

All students will need to register and pay $75.00 to hold a spot in the class. However, each “graduate” will receive a rebate check of $50.00 from the MOA Foundation at the completion of this class! To reserve your spot, register online or contact Nancy Foote at (951) 549-1717, Space is limited, and class registration will be managed on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t delay. Sign up now for what will be a fun and information-filled rally experience.

About Street Skills

Author, rider and trainer, Jon DelVecchio will sharpen your skills on actual roads! While curves are mostly thrilling on a motorcycle, they can cause riders to feel occasional anxiety. In this 4-hour course, riders are escorted on secluded roads in the Des Moines area to discover more fun and confidence in the twisties.

Street Skills "on-road courses” are American Motorcyclist Association sanctioned coaching seminar tours conducted on public roads based on the school’s Cornering Confidence program. Experienced riders looking for an edge will have an opportunity to develop cornering skills and techniques in a real-world setting. The BMW MOA Foundation is providing a special $50 scholarship rebate to all participants upon completion of the course.

To complete the Cornering Confidence training, you'll need a motorcycle with a current registration, inspection, insurance and be in excellent condition (especially tires and brakes). Participants must be over 18 and licensed with the following minimum gear - full-face or modular DOT helmet, motorcycling-specific riding jacket and pants, gloves and full boots. Only specific motorcycling jeans are acceptable and armor underneath is recommended. Arrive with full tank of fuel. A drink and snack might come in handy, too.
