BMW Motorrad was quiet(ish) through Intermot and absent from AIMExpo, so expectations were high that BMW would hit the ground running when EICMA opened to the media and industry this morning.

First off the block was the introduction of BMW's 2019 Rider Equipment line, featuring new items such as the ProRace sport suit (including a Made-to-Measure version that offers customization), along with matching boots and gloves to tie the ensemble together. BMW is also offering a new helmet, leather jacket, a summer sport jacket, riding pants for men and women, short boots, riding sneakers, a high-visibility vest. BMW is also rolling out new lifestyle products. Find out more!

In the wake of the debut of the new F 750/850 platform, BMW announced the introduction of the new F 850 GS Adventure. The powerful new parallel twin is nestled in a sheet steel bridge frame and feeds power to the ground thanks to a six-gallon fuel tank. BMW is calling the design of the new GSA "even more masculine," and they added a larger windshield, hand protectors, wide enduro foot pegs, adjustable shift and brake levers, and a number of other enhancements to the platform. You can bet there will be plenty of bolt-on accessories ready to go when these bikes hit showroom floors as well. Find out more!

Lest you think the cam-shifting Wasser Boxer platform is being neglected, never fear. Joining the new R 1250 GS and RT in the world of cam-shifting technology are the new R 1250 GS Adventure, R and RS motorcycles. All the high-tech wizardry we've come to expect from BMW Motorrad is present on these slick-looking motorcycles, and the GSA and RS even get as standard a blazing new LED headlight. Options abound, of course, and you can find out more!

Now that you think BMW's delivered everything new they could possibly deliver, there's more! That's right, there's also a new S 1000 RR superbike on the way. Lighter and faster than previous versions, the new engine produces 207 horsepower (205 in the USA) and adding the M Package (more on that in a minute) drops the weight to 426.6 pounds. More importantly, the cam-shifting technology debuted on the Boxer twins also makes its way to the S 1000 RR, allowing for enhanced power at low/medium speed and better top-end power as well. All of this is propelled down the road with the aid of a newly-designed suspension that is sure to please. Find out more!

Finally - and as alluded to above - BMW motorcycle riders can now take advantage of M options and M Performance Parts that were heretofore solely the domain of BMW automobile owners. These performance enhancements are only available for the S 1000 RR at present, but BMW motorcycle fans might be seeing further development of M options for other bikes in the lineup in the future. If that's something that interests you, be sure to mention it to your dealer! Find out more!
