BMW Motorrad unveils new models, updates, technology at EICMA

BMW Motorrad delivered a rash of announcements coinciding with the huge EICMA (pronounced EH-kma) in Milan, Italy.

Highlights (with links to BMW's press releases):

  • G 310 GS: the single-cylinder, Indian-made sister to the G 310 R sports a 313cc, four-valve DOHC engine that puts out 34 hp and 20 foot-pounds of torque. (PRESS RELEASE)
  • K 1600 GTL: new catalytic converters help with the update to EU4 emission standards, but power is still impressive - 160 hp and 129 foot-pounds of torque. (PRESS RELEASE)

  • F 800 R & GT: both of these parallel twin-powered bikes get ride-by-wire with the three usual modes (Rain and Road plus Dynamic as an option), as well as other updates (PRESS RELEASE)

  • "The most exclusive BMW motorcycle of all time:" HP4 RACE. Features a full carbon fiber main frame and carbon fiber wheels. Expect more info about this bike in Spring 2017. Watch this 30-second video teaser:

  • R 1200 GS: "optimized in a wide range of areas" for more versatility. Power stays at a respectable 125 hp & 92 foot-pounds of torque. (PRESS RELEASE)
