The Sedona, Arizona area is one of the most spectacular places to see in America. Not only is a beautiful place to visit, it offers great motorcycle riding. Within several hours of Sedona, a rider can experience beautiful vistas and lots of winding roads with great pavement.

Event Details

The ride on SR 89A through Oak Creek Canyon between Sedona going north to Flagstaff is one of the most beautiful rides where the West’s desert colors can be seen. This road is a full of beautiful landscapes where you can see into the canyon and around the turns. There are several road-side stops you can take to view the signature “Red Rocks” surrounding Sedona and side trips where hiking and other opportunities to enjoy the area abound.

You can take the same road south all the way to Wickenburg and experience the winding mountain ride up to Jerome. In Jerome, you can visit many historic places and see a beautiful view of the Verde Valley area. Jerome’s history is rich and includes sightings of ghosts (if you like that kind of thing).

After Jerome, you can continue south to Prescott and have a great burger or steak on Whiskey Row - the historic street which is Prescott’s famous visitor destination. In 1900, the entire block—along with three-quarters of the town—was destroyed by fire. But Prescott is resilient. New structures began to rise, most built of fire-proof brick, and many of those buildings are still standing today. Whiskey Row is the ideal place for unique shopping, dining and plenty of entertainment.

If you are a GS rider, there are opportunities to go off-road and visit the “Red Rocks” close up. We’ll be providing details as the event gets closer, but opportunities around Mingus Mountain and throughout all of the Verde Valley abound! That red dirt can really get into your soul and stick on your wheels in this area.

Last but not least, Sedona is a short distance from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It is an easy ride to get to the rim and visit this amazing national wonder. Riding from Sedona through Flagstaff and up to Cameron (which used to be a main trading post) you’ll pass through some beautiful Native American lands and see Humphreys Peak. Then go west and you’ll run into the Grand Canyon on its eastern end. You’ll only be limited by the time you have to get back to Sedona. Leave early in the morning if you want to do this ride and see many of the Grand Canyon’s overlooks.
