2011 is our 39th Annual Family Reunion (MOA Rally). What's a Family Reunion without kids? This year our National Charity will be helping Camp Victory and the Kids who camp there. www.campvictory.org
Camp Victory is a special camp for special kids. It was planned and built for kids suffering from a wide range of frequently complex health problems. These include allergies, autism, cancer, heart disease, spina bifida and many others. While we're enjoying our rally there will be a group of kids with Juvenile arthritis enjoying Camp Victory's experience. Some of the kids will be visiting our "Camp", on Thursday. We're going to try to plan some activity with our BMW kids and the kids from Camp Victory. Let's see what we can do about helping as many kids as possible enjoy the "camp experience.
We are again asking chartered clubs to meet or exceed the long-standing Port Washington Club challenge of $100.00 and the Chain Gang counter challenge.of $650.00. Ask your club members to save some change between now and rally- time, or ask your Club to contribute at least the $100.00 or maybe $1.00 or more per member. The check will be presented to The Camp Victory representative on Saturday at the awards ceremony.
During the rally be on the lookout for the roving 50/50 ticket sales people. Patsy Moore and many volunteers will be on site selling tickets. You'll have an opportunity to win some "beer" money, while helping the charity.. Your donations at The Cyber-café, the sewing booth, charging station, Coffee, and other volunteer areas will provide an opportunity to contribute to this worthy cause.
I know we've all been touched by some of these diseases in our own families. Please take a few minutes and watch this video...... http://www.campvictory.org/video.html and then "dig deep".
If you or your club would like to donate money in advance, write a check payable to the "BMW MOA", indicating "National Charity" in the memo section, and send to:
This rally may be a record breaker for attendance, so let's do likewise with our contribution to the Kids so they can enjoy their "day at camp".
