The 38th BMW MOA International Rally will prove to be the best ever for those who choose to travel in their RV. As you know the Rally this year is going to be at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center (DCFE) in Redmond, Oregon. There is a new RV Park that is part of the Fairgrounds. There are 105 full hook-up sites. If you are pulling a trailer behind a Motorhome you will have two choices. Each site comes with a charcoal grill and picnic table.
1) If the trailer and RV fit on the site there will be no problem.
2) If the trailer overhangs the site, there will be a place to park the trailers.
The sites are wide enough so that you will be able to open your slides and awnings. There are showers and a Laundromat at the RV Park. You will be able to walk through a pedestrian gate or take a shuttle to the main facilities. The RV Park sites will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Fees for the RV site will be $150 for the five days (Tuesday thru Saturday) of the Rally. This amount should be included with your rally registration fee. You can either register for RV space on the BMW MOA Web site beginning March 1, or with the registration form in the March issue of the BMW Owners News.
You will receive a confirmation e-mail upon receipt of payment. For those of you who show up without pre-registration, we will do our best to set you up if there are any sites available in the RV Park. If you arrive before Tuesday, DCFE will collect a daily fee.
There will be dry camping at the rally and it will be free. Please note on your rally registration that you are arriving in an RV. You will have a choice of camping on pavement or grass (note your preference). A Honey Wagon will be available on site. You will be responsible for making your own arrangements for pumping out your tanks. Information will be available at the Rally.
If you are pulling a trailer into the dry camping area, you will not be able use your truck to go in and out of the camping areas during the rally. Four-wheel vehicles will not be permitted to enter the main facility unless setting-up in the dry camping area. If you plan on using your four-wheel vehicle during the rally you will be asked to move it to the four-wheel parking area after setup. If you plan on leaving the rally before Sunday morning, you will be able to get into the dry camping area to pickup your trailer. I will post a list of Campgrounds in the area for those of you who would want that option. This will be in an upcoming issue of BMW ON and the BMW MOA web site.
Dogs:
Please keep all dogs out of the buildings. Exceptions will be made for seeing eye and service dogs. The DCFE is located within the city limits of Redmond, Oregon, and therefore the city leash law is in affect for the entire property. All dogs must be kept on a leash. Patrons, vendors and attendees are required to clean up after their dogs. Please keep the dogs away from any livestock on the grounds. This could become a serious issue. Citations can be issued by DCFE staff.
