Door Prizes Galore!

I think most of us can agree that it has been a tough year and that we have all felt the effects of the economy one way or another over the past several months. That is what makes the following list all the more remarkable in my book. During a time when we all have had to tighten our belts a little, the BMW MOA continues to see the support from dozens of businesses and individuals whose generosity touches so many during our annual International Rally.

            This will be my fifth year working in Door Prizes and I can tell you it truly is one of the best places to be. Who doesn't love winning a prize? Everyone attending the rally is eligible and the hardest thing you have to do is check the winning numbers throughout the weekend to see if you hold a lucky ticket. During our daily door prize drawings you could take home anything from socks to jackets, mugs to manuals, locks to lodging and a veritable assortment of other goodies for you or your bike.

            This year all attendees will have four chances to win something fabulous. In addition to our daily prize drawings we have a stellar lineup of Grand Prizes that are sure to please any winner. Many of the donors have contributed previously and we have a couple new donors this year. Once again the generosity of our donors is greatly appreciated. All Grand Prizes will be awarded during the closing ceremonies Saturday evening. Presence of the winner is at the discretion of the donor and will be announced during the drawing.

            Many of our donors will be vending during the rally. Please stop by their booths and thank them for the continued support. Without them, none of this would be possible. Of course you cannot win if you don't play, so make sure you drop by the door prize area and deposit your ticket for each of the fabulous drawings.

This year the BMW MOA will be giving away two motorcycles.  Rally Chair Vance Harrelson has worked hard to ensure these motorcycles will be a lasting memory of some very special "Mountain Magic". Make sure you stop by the Door Prize area where these beautiful machines will be on display. Winner does not need to be present. Winner must accept the Grand Prize as drawn. Motorcycles may not be exchanged for another model.

 

Adriatic Moto Tours

9-Day Adriatic Riviera Tour (Value $4100)

Winner can choose between spring (late April 2010) and autumn (early October 2010) Adriatic Riviera Tour for one person in a single room on a BMW F 650 GS.

Adriatic Riviera Tour is a great way to start or finish the season. On the Adriatic coast, summer begins early and ends late. Temperatures are perfect, roads are empty, and the beaches are not packed with tourists. All this combined makes Croatia's azure coast perfect for riding.

A tour is designed for serious riders as well as connoisseurs of culture and history. This adventure includes 1 night in UNESCO's Plitvice lakes National Park, 2 nights in both Dubrovnik and Hvar, which are worth a voyage across the Atlantic all by themselves. This spectacular mix of coastal and mountain riding, crystal-clear seas, delicious Mediterranean food, unspoiled fishing villages, beaches, medieval walled cities, Roman ruins and lush islands make Croatia traveler's paradise.

 

Beach's Motorcycle Adventures, LTD

Two weeks on a new BMW in the Alps, Italy's Tuscany, or New Zealand with Beach's Motorcycle Adventures Ltd. (Value $6,700, airfare is not included)

This year marks the 37th years of MOA International rallies, and is also the 37th contiguous year a member of the Beach family has lead BMW motorcycle tours in Europe. Parallels between the events are interesting. The BMWMOA rally isn't the biggest American motorcycle gathering, but it surely is the friendliest! And when one looks around the rally site, one sees bikes, bikes, and more bikes. Few trailers, few RVs. MOA members ride.

            Wanderlust and a desire to see 'what is over the next hill' were primary motivations for Bob Beach (member #91) when he began touring Europe in 1969. He realized that the Alpine chain was an ideal place to ride, and a warm, welcoming place to tour. He also realized that within the community of BMW riders were many people with similar curiosity, sense of adventure, and passion for riding. Beach's tours were designed with those individuals in mind.

            The ride remains the focus of Beach's Motorcycle Adventures. A great ride in the BMCA tour book is one where every moment on the bike is exceptional, every road memorable. These great rides end at a special place where the ambiance, setting, and comfort are the icing on the cake.

            Freedom is the other key component. Freedom to choose the daily route, pace, stops, and which, if any, of the other wonderful people in the group should be riding companions for the day. Bob Beach couldn't have foreseen the advances in technology, but a modern-day tour member may elect to follow a pre-programmed GPS route, a tour guide, another tour member, or simply strike off on his or her own.

            At the rally you will find a large number of Beach tour Alumni. Do come by Beach's booth in the vendor's tent and say hi to Gretchen Moss & Jack Cox. Gretchen is the newest member of the Beach family and assists Rob Beach in running the tours & the office with a passion and love of the business. Jack Cox is a long time tour member and friend that has ridden on most of the tour itineraries. He will be pleased to share his experiences with you. Stop by the booth and learn about touring in New Zealand, the European Alps or Italy's magical Tuscany. While you are there you might just catch a bit of Alpinitis-it is addictive!

 

Bob's BMW

The Bob's BMW Best Door Prize Ever (Value over $2,200)

One lucky person will get to join us for their choice of one of our upcoming special events at the dealership. Package includes:

1. Round trip airfare will be provided to Bob's BMW from anywhere in the continental US with deluxe pick up service provided by Bob himself. 2. Attend one of the fantastic events that Bob's BMW hosts each year at one of the world's premiere dealerships. 3. Use of a BMW motorcycle selected specifically for the winner for 2-3 days (must be a licensed rider w/experience) 4. Accommodations at a nice hotel near by Bob's BMW for up to three nights.
