The Annual BMW MOA Rally Charity Challenge has been labeled "The Port Washington BMW Club Challenge." Sixteen years ago, the Port Club initiated the challenge to raise funds for a local national rally charity. Chartered BMW MOA clubs were challenged to match the Port's initial donation of $100.00 for the local charity. Some clubs have met or exceeded that challenge, and the Chain Gang traditionally "ups the anty." Their challenge each year is $650.00. Let's see if more clubs will join the ranks!
In 2009 we are helping the Coalition for Kids, Inc. This organization's motto is changing the world one kid at a time.
We are again asking chartered clubs to meet or exceed the charity challenges. Donations should be made payable to BMW MOA, and a check will be presented to the recipient at the awards ceremony. Encourage your club members to join the group of chartered clubs who donate each year!
This year there will be plenty of opportunities to contribute to local charities.
Look for the Food Drop..on the Rally grounds to benefit the local Food shelf
We'll have On Site Games (games, vending and pool tables as well as the dunking booth...take a shot at your favorite officer or celebrity!!)
Collect your soda or beer tabs for the Ronald McDonald House and bring them to the rally. We'll also collect (or pull them) in the Beer Garden. - The Alabama club has a head start and has been saving these for a couple months.
As usual during the rally be on the lookout for the roving 50/50 ticket sales people. Britta Rottschy and many volunteers will be on site selling tickets. Winners will be drawn throughout the Rally and will be posted at the charity table. 50% of the proceeds will be contributed to the Coalition for Kids, and 50% of each drawing will be given to the lucky ticket holders. Let's keep those 50/50 volunteers busy and raise money for a great cause.
If you'd like to donate money in advance, write a check payable to the "BMW MOA", indicating "National Charity" in the memo section, and send to:
