Without the help of some very dedicated volunteers, the job of Awards and Tallies Chair would have been near impossible. Kathy and Dave Harmacek were the computer experts for the committee. They set up the system we used to do the recording of the registrations. Dave did the statistical analyses of the data. Owen Bergman got real familiar with the club names and numbers converting scribbles into something manageable. Ed Dresher, Chuck Myers, and Bill Brown made sure the award submissions were taken and filled in correctly. Chuck also spent many hours entering data for the project. We also had a host of other volunteers that spent an hour or two or more entering data so this would work. Thanks to all.

There was some confusion as to the methodology for figuring mileage for the long distance riders. We chose to use an absolute method to eliminate arguments. We figured mileage as great circle mileage. This method always comes out less than everyone expects. On the positive side, it is absolute. It doesn't matter what route you took, or software you use to route your trip. You are a fixed distance from home with this method.

  • We had 8,048 registered adults and some 200 children.
  • Of those, we had 6,414 riders with 1334 passengers.
  • There were 6,014 men and 1334 women.
  • There were 5,287 motorcycles reported, 313 cars, and 241 motor homes.
  • There were 323 vendors.
