BMW Motorrad announces Bagger pricing

For anybody dying to know what the 2018 K 1600 Bagger is going to cost, you can stop holding your breath.
That's right, the MSRP is just under $20k, with the destination fee of $495 putting it just over that mark. By way of comparison, a base-model K 1600 GT has an MSRP of $21,995.
BMW's press release reminds us that BMW Motorrad developed the Bagger explicitly with American riders and the wide-open roads of the US and Canada in mind. It is, of course, built on the same framework as the K 1600 GT and GTL touring models, but features a radical (for BMW) aesthetic, with an aggressive, sloping look. The redesigned rear frame reduces the height of the passenger seat, giving the bike an even lower look.
The technology of the K16 platform is all there - 160 horsepower, 129 ft-lbs of torque, Rain/Road/Dynamic riding modes, Dynamic Traction Control, ABS Pro that works in corners, heated seats, heated grips, power-adjustable windshield, cruise control, multifunction display, Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment with two modes, Gear Shift Assist Pro, Reverse Assist, Hill Start Control, adaptive headlight ... the list goes on and on.
Some of those features are part of add-on packages, but still - the technology available is impressive. No word on what the packages will cost, but our guess is many buyers will go for the full boat to get at all the goodies.
BMW Motorrad did not announce a release date, but rest assured we will let you know as soon as we know!
