BMW Motorrad USA recently announced that all current BMW MOA members
are eligible to receive a free liter of BMW Motorrad Advantec engine
MOA members may present their valid membership card at any
participating BMW Motorrad dealer for a free liter of Advantec Ultimate
or Pro when buying at least three liters and one BMW oil filter over the
parts counter or with a 600 mile break-in service, scheduled
maintenance service or between scheduled service appointments.
Pro 15W-50 and Ultimate 5W-40 engine oils were specifically developed
for BMW Motorrad high-performance engines and use unique formulas to
guarantee long-term performance.
Members are limited to one free
liter of Advantec per individual visit, per repair order or per parts
invoice. The offer is valid now through March 31, 2017.
Just purchased a new R1200RT at Eurocycles (BMW and Ducati and all the other Euro Bikes.) of Tampa. While the service department was not familiar with this offer, they said that as long as I bring in something in print, they will honor it. I just printed this from the MOA. I'll let you know what happens next week...
6K service on my '16 R1200R LC @ MAX NY. I asked about the MOA oil program and they gave me a discount on all 4 liters to equal the price of 1 liter. Said this was easier for them. Same result for me. No problem at all!
I have been told twice now at Sandia BMW in Albuquerque NM that they will not participate in the promotion for over the counter sales. It is my understanding the only way to receive the free liter is if they do the oil service. Since I do my own oil changes, I do not get to participate in this "promotion". Bummer. It would have been a nice perk since the BMW really likes their oil based upon the pricing.
Stopped in at Touring Sport BMW in Greenville S.C.for an annual service and requested the free liter of oil. Parts department said that the promotion did not apply in this situation. Free liter of oil was valid for over the counter purchases of oil, not scheduled service.
The parts department at Foothills BMW, Lakewood, CO, told me their paperwork shows that if I'm in for service and my bike takes four liters of oil, then one would be free. They show no mention of a free liter for past scheduled maintenance, however recent (they say).
The other posts here seem to show that we members might as well forget about promotions such as these, as the dealers don't seem to be interested in participating.
Today, I went to GO AZ Motorcycles new Peoria Store with my MOA free toy coupon + the intention of buying some BMW oil as per the latest "ON" Magazine buy 3 get 1 free offer.
I have to admit I had it wrong as I asked the dealer for the buy 4 get 1 free offer......further asking if I could get 2 free if I bought 8?
As a side....because I seem to have bad experiences getting "ripped off" by local dealers, I asked the rep point blank if they sell BMW parts for "BMW List" or if they mark up beyond list as I have seen at some other dealers.
The dealer stated OUTRIGHT that they do not sell above list price on any BMW part numbers.
Being Naïve, I went ahead and purchased 8 with the assumption of getting 2 free.
I didn't really look at the price till I got home......but now I see on the receipt that he charged me $17.25/ Liter for the eight that I paid for. or 138.00 + Tax....
It appears I paid too much for the 8 if I did get the 2 free??? Or I got a discount on 10??
FYI. Cross Country BMW, Metuchen NJ customers should save yourself a trip. The parts manager at this dealership insists this promotion has ended even after I explained I just saw the promotion at Das Rally and the MOA website has this promotion expiring in March of 2017.
Thanks for sharing this! For clarification, is this offer good for one free liter per visit, or just one free liter per member? The source of my confusion is an apparent disagreement between the first and last sentences of the original post.
