In an interview with The Associated Press recently, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali said he's focused on "protecting the aura of exclusivity" of his company's motorcycles.
It's not hard to see Ducati as a premium brand, with just 7,400 motorcycles sold in June 2015, which represents a 60% increase in sales from June 2014. Ducati's exciting new Scrambler has sold 9,000 units so far in 2015.
Domenicali credited the takeover by Volkswagen with boosting Ducati sales by providing stable ownership, but also by providing a new focus on customer satisfaction.
