GS riders have enjoyed Continental's TKC 80 tires for several years; the 40/60 on/off road tires have found a market with riders who venture off the beaten path quite a bit.
Continental's new TKC 70 is for riders that like to spend a bit more time on the road than off the beaten path and combines the best of the TKC 80 and Conti TrailAttack 2 adventure tires.
The TKC 70 is a brand-new Continental tire with rugged off-road capabilities and balanced street performance. Handmade in Germany, they are currently the only radial trail tires specifically constructed for off-road use.
While the name might suggest a 70/30 on/off road split, Conti says the TKC 70 is positioned for 60/40 on/off road use (the opposite of the TKC 80s). The unique tread block pattern makes the 70 quiet and stable on the road while still providing good off-road capability. In other words, the TKC 70 delivers agilty on the road and sure grip on gravel or dirt.
Continental's 0° steel-belted semi-dual compound technology (MultiGrip) allows different levels of hardness on the central tread and shoulder area - this improves grip and extends the life of the tire as well as guaranteeing high stability and low kickback. The new compound (RainGrip) also offers a short warm-up period and offers outstanding grip in wet weather conditions.
Some sizes of the TKC 70 were available in October 2014, but as of April 2015, the full range of sizes are starting to arrive at dealers. Call or email your local Continental dealer to find out if your size is in stock!
