The BMW Motorcycle Owners of America has teamed up with Markel American Insurance Company, of Pewaukee, Wisc., to create The BMW MOA Endorsed Insurance Program, providing the nearly 40,000 BMW MOA members liability protection and physical damage coverage for their motorcycles.

"During the last three years the BMW MOA has searched for just the right insurance company to provide coverage for members' motorcycles at fair premiums and deliver first class service," said Ray Zimmerman, Executive Director of the BMW MOA. “Markel American promises to fulfill that requirement."

Markel American Insurance Company has been insuring motorcycles for over 35 years and is rated "A (Excellent) g, XII" by AM Best.

Discounts
The BMW MOA Endorsed Insurance Program will recognize and reward safe and conscientious bikers by offering discounts that can add up to substantial savings. (Discounts applicable where allowed by state regulations)

Safe Driver Discount - 10%
With the BMW MOA Endorsed Insurance Program, being a safe driver pays rewards. If you have no more than one minor violation in the last three years, you will be given a 10% discount.

Safety Course Discount - 10%
Completing an approved safety course (such as a MSF class) within the last three years will earn you a 10% discount.

Anti-Lock Brakes Discount - 10%
If your bike is factory equipped with anti-lock brakes, the BMW MOA Endorsed Insurance Program will give you a 10% discount.

Anti-Theft Alarm Discount - 10%
The BMW MOA Endorsed Insurance Program provide you 10% off of your comprehensive premium if your bike is equipped with a permanently attached electronic alarm.

Multi-Unit Discount - 5 to 10%
We offer a 5% discount for 2 units and a 10% discount for 3 or more units on the same policy.

Renewal Discount - 10%
Loyalty is important. You will receive a 10% discount with your annual policy renewal.

Accident Forgiveness Program
After 4 continuous years of insuring your bike with the BMW MOA Endorsed Insurance Program loss free (meaning that Markel has not paid an insurance claim on your behalf) you will be presented with an appreciation certificate. Should you have a chargeable at-fault accident in the future, redeem the certificate and we will waive any applicable surcharge. This certificate does not waive your deductible.
