Started Off Running But I Take My Time

So I get up and come down stairs this morning...go back up to the bedroom and get my glasses by the bed...Started off Running...

I go down to the kitchen and make coffee I come back 10 minutes later from letting the dogs out and feeding the horses to find I forgot to push the start button ...Started off Running...

I am painting a bedroom, second coat, everything assembled ready to turn on Early Sunday Morning NPR. The boom box’s batteries are dead. Somebody left it on all night long. ...Started off Running...

So I go down and FINALLY get some coffee, go back up with fresh batteries, install them (power cord ripped out years ago), set down to mix the paint...the screwdriver I had last night to open the can is not to be found......Started off Running...

So I finish painting the room celebrating how neat I did it, very little paint on the floor, or on me; then I look down at my formerly brown suede Birkenstock that is now blue.......Started off Running...

So I decide to change oil in the bike, drain all and then find out that I have lost the only crush washer anywhere near me on a Sunday afternoon. I dig through the warm oil in the pan and finally locate the used flattened one and re-install and pour one quart in, then realizing I only have two more full ones......Started off Running... So I finally find enough oil in my camping stuff to make the bottom of the oil window...

I get my helmet on, forget the ear plugs, take back off the helmet, put in the plugs, drop it into first, and kill it cause the kick stand is down...,,,...Started off Running...

Take off the helmet, and drop my glove off the high side I finally get it on down the road ...Started off Running...

So I took off down a dirt road just south of the house, on the GS heading towards Faribault...I look in my rear view mirror just in time for two dirt bikes going twice my speed getting ready to dust by the old man on the BMW.... I almost fell down in the deep ruts trying to save face......Started off Running...

So the rest of the day, I took my time, I goofed off, wrote some stuff, ate some really bad pancakes from this morning, and took my time...friend of a devil is a friend of mine. Started off running but I took my time.....

Oh who’s complaining…I am riding in the morning, the middle of November in the middle of Minnesota…who can complain…Tomorrow I will start off running but will take my time…
