I had posted on another forum that maybe a June 15-18 window to meet in Faribanks at the University Dorm...then the ones that wanted to head to Prudhoe Bay (weather and conditions permitting) could form a small group to ride together on any of those days...

It's in my plans for 2010... thinking about the D2D rally as well...

Alaska 2010

I'm planning on going to Ak this summer, probably the end of June, riding up from Portland and taking the ferry back. I'd like to get up to Fairbanks and maybe do a part of the Dalton, to the Arctic Circle or to Coldfoot if time allows, and then down the Parks Highway for a little time in Denali. I went up to Prince George year before last and motel'd it the whole way. My battery died in Smithers so I didn't make it up the Cassiar. I took the ferry back to Port Hardy. Last year I went around north and east WA camping and liked that a lot better. My wife is concerned I'll be eaten by bears in Ak but I told her they usually don't eat all of you. Is anyone else interested in going up, or part of the way?

Alaska 2010

Must be the year for Alaska.

My wife and I are planning our trip for next summer. We want to go to the 49er rally in Auburn at the end of May and to the national in Redmond in July so we figured why make two trips all the way from Texas. All we needed to do was find something to do in between. So, why not Alaska and western Canada?

Obviously we're retired.

Ak

My date isn't set in stone and don't know if my wife can make it but I'm going.
I think it might be best to go before the rally ( less RV's )
I live near Portland so if we or anyone wants to do this we can connect and ride together .
I would hope to have my date set by Feb/Mar .
Waiting for 2010 Milepost to be published .
I expect to go for 3 weeks no less than 2 .
I'll be set up to camp & hotel with food onboard .
Perhaps we could all begin some private communications on the side.
