Redmond OR Site Visit
The board is in Redmond OR this weekend for a site visit and meeting.
I've been out with the camera and I've got a folder on Flickr with pictures from my visit. More to come, we have a formal visit this afternoon. So far the place is very impressive. Ample everything, greenery, parking, very clean.

It's flatter
Looks like lots of level land for camping. That's a good thing.

Ah, this brings back memories.
But I can't find my campsite. ![]() My brother and I rolled in in the early afternoon, and set up camp next to the Rocky Bow Riders. He was riding his "Ratbike", a 1978 Goldwing, and started showing some guys from Florida his "anti-theft switch", which was a household electrical switch in the glovebox that would turn on the power to his bike. He had an undiagnosed short and had simply bypassed the whole electrical system with an extra wire. The Florida guys immediately had half the body work off, and dove in with a multi meter, trying to find the short. They found it in minutes, a corroded assembly connector plug, and suggested he cut the plug out, and solder the wires directly. But Hans told him he would stick with his trusty bathroom switch so he would not have to worry about guys stealing his bike. ![]() On the ride home, I almost hit an eagle...

I was there:)
Redmond and ME riding my '99 F650, proving it to be a really nice touring bike. I had left my larger Beemer home. Sure had a nice roundabout to the NW that year. The site is as "perfect" as any I've attended and I hope the city has kept it up. That year, the facility was fairly new. Its flat alright, with golf course style grass at that rally. This place should please everyone indeed. A days ride to or from this place takes you through parts of the USA, unlike any other and so many sites are just a few miles away. You shouldn't miss this, especially if you've never been to the NW

The RV area is fenced off. You'd have to ask the site why that is. And generators are allowed there.

Go to google maps and look east of Redmond to find hwys 207, 219 and 19 through the high desert and canyon country of central Oregon. Slow down through the booming metropolises of Antelope, Fossil and Clarno.
The Pacific Northwest is famous for its snow covered volcanos and temperate rain forest, but for brisk rides I like dry pavement. See you there!!

This is not uncommon at facilities like this. It allows them to operate as an RV park during times when they have no other activities scheduled.
As Gail said, typically generators ARE allowed at RV parks, but their use is restricted to daytime hours, generally 8AM to 8 PM, or thereabouts.
