I think their rallies would be a little more successful if they set a date and location a year a head like most rally organizers do.

To quote an often cited refrain. "But, they're the RA."

I always thought that the RA Rallys were successful. At least the 10 or so I've attended have been. MOA rallys are good, but because of the size of the RA rallies, they have more options for a varity of sites besides fairgrounds and the like. And they are the RA.. Come to the next one and we can

I joined the RA earlier this year and attended my first RA Rally in July. they are different...not in a bad way, just different. its more of a family feeling. everyone, no matter how important is approachable. the Venders even seemed more friendly. their Forum is nowhere as active as this one, so I rarely go there. I hope they post the time and location of next years Rally soon, so I'll know if it will conflict with the MOA or not.

I guess we have various degrees of success. I think they would do much better if they would stick to a particular time of the year and announce the next years rally during that years rally there by giving attendees time to plan their vacation time.
Rallies are expensive to produce, you would be very surprised what it costs to put one of these things together. I heard some figures of what it cost to have the RA rally in the U P last year and I was kinda of shocked. A club could be in deep, deep financial trouble if they staged a rally and couldn't get the numbers to break even.
I have no clue as to how the RA did in W VA this year but I do know all of us expected more people to attend. I hope they at least broke even.

update: although it will be held in the Catskill region of NYS it will NOT be held at Hunter Mtn.
