This bolt hods the negative cable and speedometer drive bushing at the rear of the gearbox. The gearox only has a few threads to engage the bolt-don't put much torque on it.

reason for hole in bolt

The reason for the hole is to allow the transmission to vent. Without the hole, it will push grease past the seals.

That's an easy to strip one or the expensive variety. D'oh!

Why can't each bolt on these beasties have an RFID tag?

ps. My buddy Mark picked up the white Krausers, excellent. He's been after mine for a while.

Yes, RFID will be nice on all the parts, maybe a digital install manual will be nice.

Yes! Mark is happy with his Krausers, now I need a set of blacks.

Are you looking for a black set of Krausers/Hepco Becker or the larger BMW touring cases? The latter can fit a fullface helmet, but not sure they were available for your year bike...however, its what Mark has on his Motorsport I believe...hint, hint. ;-)

No, he has the regular BMW bags. I don't like the square look, the Krausers have a slanted look to it, I think I located a set but thanks.
