Why didn't I buy a 1200GS..... besides the fact I didn't want to spend $20K plus on a bike, the 650 is perfect for 95% of the riding I'll be doing, and it's better offroad.
In a few years when I get the chance to do some long distance touring, I'll add a 1200GS to the barn.

Here my X Challenge taking a break during the BMW MOA Rally in TN this year. The X did well on this trip logging 1230 miles total round trip including rides in the area.
I've attached a photo of my 650 XC with it's new Corbin among other farkles. The Corbin has changed the bike for me. I used to get lower back pain because the stock saddle had zero support. At first, the Corbin feels very firm, but after awhile the support is really nice.
