So....as a new K1300 owner, what do you think of those "non-BMW" turn signal switches?

Been riding K-bikes for so long that I don't know if I'd ever get used to the "UJM" style switch gear.

honk if you want to go left

It should only take a few hundred more times and my brain will be trained. Funny thing is that every time I hit the horn by accident nobody looks my way makes me wonder if they can hear it at all.

Hear your horn? Not with their BOOM BOOM music and cell phones plastered to their ears. No way.

What, you actually expect drivers to use all of their senses these days? They're all too busy "multitasking" for such archaic ideas. I'd be happy if the majority would just used their eyes (and brain) once in a while.

Sweet! Where was that photo taken? Looks like out near Del Rio (Amistad? Langtry?) or maybe further west... Big Bend country, perhaps?

Thanks, yes, further west. That was off I-70 in Utah while coming back from the 2001 National Rally in Oregon. The best interstate riding I have seen, the interstate dropped down thru the V-notch behind me and you could see for miles and miles.

Yeah, I agree. If you simply must take the slab, I-70 anywhere west of Denver ain't bad. Another decent interstate ride (as interstates go) is I-90 between Coeur d'Alene and Missoula.

    Riding Mountain

My favorite morning ride is from Dauphin to Clear Lake, Riding Mountain. I usually enjoy a coffee as I look over the lake before heading on. ItÔÇÖs a curvy road. Watch out for the Moose, Elk, Bear etc. in the early morning mist along the road. DArcy
