Smile Just one pic for now

    Hello to all,

IÔÇÖll start a new thread when it arrives (~ two weeks). This forum has been very informative and I hope to contribute in the near future. This will be the first BMW cycle I own, though IÔÇÖve admired for years.

All things considered I believe it is. More pictures will be posted once it arrives, promise. You can see the cracks above the 1 and there are other areas which are worse. I wasnÔÇÖt looking for a show bike, but a K1 I could enjoy frequently without being overly worried about the inevitable scratches and road pepper. The paint is an Audi pearl white and I hope to correct some of the more apparent battle scars, but at this time a full refinish is not my intension.

I have a 1990 blue & yellow K1 which is a lot of fun to ride. I don't put a lot of miles on it (I bought it with 11,000 and it now has 15,000 after 5 years), but it sure is a conversation starter.

Hey Greg, why don't you let me borrow that K1 of yours for a year or so--I'll break it in for ya.

Picked up my 2nd K1 (1991 blue/silver) a little over a year ago and have put more than 25 K miles on it already. Even rode 'er up to the RA in Michigan a couple weeks ago (~3300 miles in 9 very fun days) 'Course, I don't have a huge stable of beemers to choose from either, so I'm "forced" to travel on the K1. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it.

Can't visit "da UP" without stopping to eat some of these.

Hiding from the rain in Marquette.

    Lovely lakes.

On the road to Copper Harbor.
(The wind blowing off Lake Superior was inferior in temperature only)

"The end of the road...is also...the beginning of the road, Grasshopper."

    (US-41, that is)

    Killer sunset over Superior.
(Too bad I'm a crappy photographer; my camera didn't do it justice.)

An interesting alignment of numbers on the way home.
(Somewhere in eastern KY--on route 1 near Willard, IIRC)

Didn't see any other K1s at the RA rally or on the road the entire time. I know they'e out there, but c'mon, doesn't anyone else actually ride the darn things any more?

Sure would be nice to get a few K1s together at the Klassic K Campout next month. Anyone...anyone...Bueller?

Cool "Nice Bike" and "Beautiful" (Bike names)

The first bike is from my 2005 USA tour and the second one is my latest - I toured with that one in 2007.

    I live for my K.

    "Nice Bike" = 2003 K1200RS, "Beautiful" = 2006 K1200S

    I can see clearly now...

Check it out, a brand new OEM windshield for a 21 year old bike. The old one did not fare well during last year's cross country trip, in addition to the yellowing, it is covered in spider cracks. My dealer found 2 news ones in the system, I bought one of them.

    Gail,
How much was it? I'd consider replacing mine as well.

3 bills, without hardware; don't forget to order the rubber gromits you can't recycle the old ones.

Good luck getting the "other one"

Wow..... no surprise. Who'd you get it thru? Actually, I could just use some new grommets. I dont' actually look thru mine while riding so it's not as much of an issue.

    Blanquita

    "Blanquita" today in Mexico City.

Hi to everyone, I'm Rick. What you see back in the picture is San Francisco Catholic Church in south city district: Coyoacan, few yards from my house. Just in this area (1 mile arround) we have 12 churches, most from the 16th and 17th century, this might be interesting to you; but my LOVE goes with Blanquita (90' K100LT)
