Question R100RS Choke cables: need help

Gurus & near-gurus.....need help on replacement part nos. for my lower choke cables...
    1982 R100RS (stock bars).

    Max & Bob's say it's 32 73 242 139 (531 mm)
    OEM says it's 32 73 124 0817 (459 mm)

Obviously I prefer to order the correct cables..without having to remove/measure them, or return the wrong ones, wait for other cables....any advice????

    Left and right side difference?

My r100r had two different lengths with the right side being longer if memory serves me correctly.

Run a piece of string along the length and see what that is. That should help you determine which it is...531 or 459 is a big difference.

    RS cables

As luck would have it, I replaced these very cables on my 1983 R100RS last week. I noticed the package they came in said "left." I'd expected they would be different lengths, but they measured the same. I installed them without any issues.
You should find the OEM part number in white letters on the cable itself if you are unsure which to order. If yours are faded beyond legibility, let me know and I'll dig my old cable out of the used parts box to see if I can read the numbers on mine.
Alternatively, you may wish to check one of the one line parts fiches for the number(s).
    Good luck.
