    Givi trunk light problem

Anyone experienced a problem with the Givi trunk brake/tailight not coming on until you push down on the lid? The base connecting points are fine but the lid contacts don't appear to be secure causing intermittent light problems. Any ideas how to correct?

Was considering same for my Givi Blade box. So, please post your solution when you get it.

Cleaning the contacts is a good idea. Also, check to see if the connection wire to contacts is secure. Can the contacts be tightened/adjusted/shimmed?

    Hope you can fix this.

    Talked to Givi

They were not aware of any issues but pointed out the lid contacts move around. They suggested pulling one of the contact plugs away from the mounting slot, repositioning it to make contact sooner with the other contact then hot gluing it in place. Just did this and waiting for the glue to dry, looks like a good fix.

    Success

After hot gluing the contact switch in place allowing it to protrude from the lid, all seems well. Rode for an hour last night on bumpy roads and light is still working.

    Congrats!

Is there any chance you could post a picture? When you say "protrude", is that visible from outside the case?

    Contact pics

Here are a couple of photos, you can see the glue in the one picture. The protrusion is only 1mm-2mm so is not visible when the case is closed as the bottom contacts are spring-loaded thereby accounting for the protrusion.

    Admore Lighting

if your lights ever do burn out Admore Lighting makes LED replacement kits (new circuit board with mounted LEDs) which eliminates the need to change them for the foreseeable future.
