    1977 R100S stock color.

Is black with no pinstripes an original color scheme for a 1977 R100S?

No, there was never an Airhead without pinstripes until the '81 Lava Red and whatever grey. These were the only ones. Except GS, etc.

You've got the fairly typical unimaginative repaint.

And, on the world stage any color available for any bike in a given year is "stock." The USA importer tended to order fixed colors for each model, but again in Germany, for example, you could order any color for any model. But, they all had pinstripes.

Here is my totally stock 1977 R100S with (now) 13,000 miles on it - this was the only color scheme for the 77 R100S (to my knowledge)

I had a '78 R100S in Red Smoke. Really good looking. But I enjoyed looking at it more than riding it.
