    Help Needed in Alabama!

We're down at the Barber Motorsports Park for the RA Rally, and have just discovered a big chunk out of the rear tire on Dave's RT. It's Saturday night and the tire service hat was on call has packed up and gone home. We've emailed the shop, but their website says they're closed until Tuesday. If anybody knows Kenny at Moto Ace and can get him a message, or has another recommendation on how/where we can get a new tire before then, PLEASE give us a call. Dave's number is 872-207-6713.

Thanks for any help you can give!

    Cheryl,

If someone could ride down to Moto Ace and look, some businesses have an "in case of emergency telephone" note on the front door. Good luck!

Or, given that Moto Ace had some connection with the RA office to set up its tire-changing operation for the Rally, you might ask one of the RA officers or Rally heads; they might have contact info for Kenny.

Moto Ace surely has a business license from the City of Leeds. Applications for business licenses usually require the applicant to furnish an emergency contact number. The City likely won't give you the #, but if you can get to the City's office and ask when they open on Monday, they may well call Kenny and pass along a message.

    Ted -

I also came across Terry's Two Wheel through the list of Airhead friendly shops. I went to the website and it says they will be closing their doors in January. I presume this was several months ago...the date at the bottom of the says 2012...maybe it was in January 2013?

Is this not the same place?

It is the same. Terry has moved to his house and still doing service. He is MOA and could help in a pinch.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sorry not to have responded sooner, but we didn't have a steady internet connection - that's why I gave a phone number. Anyway, we managed to baby it along to a shop in Ohio that is open on Mondays (had no idea most aren't), and got the tire changed out. Thanks again for trying to help us out.

Hi Karen - we finally got home mid afternoon Thursday. The tire wasn't the only issue. We ended up spending a couple of nights in a lovely inn down the road from BMW of Cleveland having the clutch slave cylinder replaced (then hiding from Wednesday's storms). Home now, the trailer is safely back at the cottage and we're relaxing!
