Does your dash have a choke symbol next to the yellow choke light? If so, you probably still have the choke switch at the rear of the throttlebodies. It looks just like the switch at the clutch lever as they are both the same part #. Not sure when the change was made, but it was between '89 and '93.

The connectors for the choke switch and the clutch switch are right next to each other in the main harness along the left frame rail underneath the gas tank (must remove tank or at least lift it). The connectors are identical since the choke and clutch switches are the same part #.


If the light comes on with the clutch and the bike starts in gear with the choke on, the connections under the tank are crossed.
