We got the early bird reservations. I failed notice any mention of Saturday dinner. Will we get to cook our own steaks? Not that it would change my mind it is still a great rally.
I hope Georgia thaws out by then.
    Be safe

    Yes to Saturday steak dinner.

The Georgia Mountain Rally for 2014 retains all the features that have made it the best way to start the ride/rally season in the Southeast.

This means chili Friday night and the popular grill-a-steak dinner Saturday. Added this year is Saturday and Sunday pancake breakfasts as an included part of the registration package.

Activity in the event's webpages show some of the more obvious enhancements for the 24th GMR. Check out the options under the "Georgia Mountain Rally" menu item here BMWMCOGA Website

There is added emphasis on offering alternative lodging suggestions, including a special discounted rate at the Holiday Inn just over one mile from the rally site in downtown Hiawassee. There are also link to help pick out restaurants in the immediate area that can meet any particular gastronomic craving.

Perhaps most importantly the website has a library of waypoints, routes and tracks. These supplement the program of structured rides. Makes planning to exploit the opportunity of being in the heart of some of the best paved and dual sport roads in the country easy.

The 2014 Georgia Mountain Rally in Hiawassee is just about a month away.

Folks can register online until the event begins, or on site at the rally, but Early Bird registration closes in two-weeks on April 15th.

What?s the Early Bird deal? $10 discount on registration, free Rally Pin, and an entry into the exclusive Early Bird winner-take-all draw where the prize this year is a Schuberth C3 helmet with a retail value around $600.

Everyone at the rally is entered into the Grand Prize draw for an Olympia Riding Suit (AST2 jacket and pants) with a retail value around $600. BMWMCOGA members get to participate in a draw for $400 of Gerbing gear.

Early Bird and Grand Prizes are sponsored by BMW Ducati Husqvarna Motorcycles of Atlanta www.bmwma.com‎. BMWMCOGA member prize is sponsored by Blue Moon Cycle www.bluemooncycle.com

A Klim Lattitude Riding Suit with a retail value around $1,100 has been added as a Special Grand Prize to the draws at this year?s GMR. Means the total value of all the major prizes is now $2,700. Wow! More here: http://www.bmwmcoga.org/content.aspx...dule_id=151774

Weather is looking good over May 2nd to 4th for the Georgia Mountain Rally. Check out the forecast here: http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USGA0270

The GMR offers good food, great vendors, $2,700 worth of premium prize draws (Klim and Olympia riding suits, Schuberth helmet, Gerbing gear - thanks to the support of BMW Ducati Husqvarna Motorcycles of Atlanta in Marietta and Blue Moon Cycle in Norcross), and a host of other door prizes.

Of course, it helps that the venue is smack in the middle of the best road and dual sport routes in the southeast - a great start to your riding season.

If you have not already registered, it is not too late to get in on the action. Details here http://www.bmwmcoga.org/content.aspx...dule_id=151774

If you have signed up, see you there!
