My son ('87 K100RS) and I ('78 R100/7) took a "History" trip since we are both interested in American history - Revolutionary war and Civil War:

    From Canton, OH
    Flight 93 crash memorial
    Gettysburg, PA
Philadelphia, PA (gravesites of 7 of the signers of Declaration of Independence, Liberty Bell, Constitution Hall, and an official Philly CheeseSteak)
Washington DC (Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, Changing of the Guard of the Tomb of Unknown Soldier, Jefferson Memorial, VIetNam Memorial, WWII Memorial, other sights)
    Monticello, Jefferson Home Tour
Lexington, VA (Robert E. Lee & Thomas (Stonewall) Jackson's gravesites)
Charleston, SC - lots of Southern Historical places
    Greenville, SC
    Dragpn's Tail
    Lexington, KY
    Columbus, OH
    return to Canton, OH
Been a few of those places myself. I really like Gettysburg and the surrounding area.

Great looking bikes. I'm partial to airheads and Ks.

Happy to provide details for planning.

If I am able to go, it would most likely be departing from our group in Kentucky. Hmmm .... there's something VERY attractive about a 19 or 20 day trip!

Let's see...went to Kroger's, post office, gas station(s), BMW bike and car dealers, Honda car dealer, Lowe's, Home Depot, Dairy Queen, Jamison's Meats, doctors' offices, hospital, County building, Harley dealer (only with a friend!), both daughter's houses, brother's house and numerous other locations. Slow year.

North Carolina, for a big (50 +/- bikes) Brit bike ride, in May- with friends from England. We rode my two K bikes down to Blowing Rock, and I had a friend bring my Norton in his truck.

Then over to Germany, Sweden, & Norway in August. Main event was the 50th International BSA Rally,
near Valldal in "southern" Norway. Along the way to the Rally, we visited with friends and attended a major Swedish hot rod rally,
the A-bombers Old Style Weekend. I rode my friend's Yamaha XT 500, he on his full custom BSA "Dark Star"- but we trucked the bikes rather than ride.

Above please see links to both my "ride reports" -which I presented over at Britbike.com. Below is a photo "teaser" from Norway's world famous Trollstigen- the awesome stone bridge and waterfall.

Sounds like my 25+ prior years. Constantly working, never had time for any vacations. Only thing, I got to ride 13 miles each way back and forth to work for 13 years.

Other than a few short 100 mile trips back then, I didn't get to take a fun trip until the past summer.

I drove a rental car to Wichita.

I'd be surprised if I've ridden 300 miles in that past 15 months.

Virginia Beach, VA to Key West and Return

This concluded our two part tour of the east coast from Maine to Key West to include PA, OH, WV, TN and KN.
Guess it is time (as they say) to go west young man since going farther east from Virginia Beach would be very wet.

This years "Quest" was to find seasonal/little used roads within a 50 mile radius of my house. Trying to slow down a bit and get away from cell phoners and texters..

    Seasonal road near Andes, NY

Nice! Roads without paving or painted lines are certainly slower paced and worth it.
