I've never heard of an armrest on a motorcycle. Where would you put it?

This is the only solution that I've seen to add pillion armrests to the 49L topcase. Yet, they don't appear to be available for sale.

They're pretty common on Goldwings and Harleys.

Here's the Goldwing. The main picture shows a GL1500 but I know you can buy them for the GL1800's too.

Here's an option for the Harley. Replaces the factory passenger backrest.

    I know I've seen them a BMW's like the K1200LT. I found this link.

I've never seen them on an R bike that I can remember. The link that Shaun posted looks interesting but it does state that the product is a prototype and it was posted back in 2008. I'm wondering if the versions for the K bike couldn't be modified for the R bike? Maybe some kind of adapter for them to fit the contours of the 49L top case? Just a thought!

Ah! Armrests for the passenger! Yep, seen Goldwings and K-Series with such accoutrements... would be a lot tougher with removable luggage on the RT, though.

Could not figure out how that would work for the driver?

    Cheers!

Arm rests for the driver?? Never seen that on any bike. Backrests, yes, but not arm rests. Considering we're almost always hanging on the handlebars (should be anyway! ), I'd think they'd be in the way most of the time.
