    1977 R100 brake rotor

I was replacing my front brake rotor on my 1977 R100 . The old one is riveted to the hub and the replacement uses bolts. Could anyone tell me if that's a problem or is that how the replacements are? It is an after market. Tim

I will assume from your question that you are only replacing the rotor, not the carrier that bolts to the wheel. On my Motorsport (78 R100RS) the dealer drilled out those rivets and installed bolts using lock tight on the nuts. My rotors were the semi floating type, thus they also had a spacer and spring that went with the assembly.

My rotor just bolts direct to the hub ,I don't think its a semi float. It looks like the parts that were sent were for a floating rotor . When I bolted it on the rotor still could move slightly. Not sure if this can used and I don;t want to put it together till I know for sure. Tim

I am not sure what you have, but I can tell you that the semi-floating set up is really nice. I would go back to your vendor for some assistance. Wayne
