    It's All In A Word

Reading about BMW once again winning accolades for "Best Bike" in several segments. Among others: K1600GT in "Sport Touring" and K1600GTL in "Touring".
Had to laugh. Do the little differences between the bikes REALLY justify putting them in different categories? GTL is "Toruring", that's fine. But I dare to say, if the GT wouldn't have this monster engine, nobody would put it in a "Sport Touring" category.

In the language used by those managing the awards, "touring" means Harley. Why not, they sell more than half the street bikes sold in the USA. A GTL looks a little more like a Harley, so the GT must be sporty. Are there any "sport touring" HDs?
