    Losing things

    20140328_180225.jpg

About this point in the game Saturday , I realize my glasses are missing
Makes two pair in last two weeks, eyes due for a checkup anyways I suppose.

I only wish it were only glasses I was losing lately.

Doesn't look to me like you have lost anything.

Some of the load is in the truck and some on the ground. :
I used to post here, but now I don't.

Several years ago I had spent a couple hours hacking down brush with a scythe when I realized things were looking a bit bleary. My glasses were still on my face but the right lens was missing. (That is the eye which without glasses is about 20/200.) Only took me about an hour on my hands and knees to actually find the damn thing! Do you have a third pair of glasses to use while you wait for your new prescription? If not, did you start slowly unloading the truck?

Given your track record, you might want to consider getting expensive glasses with all the bells and whistles and also a cheap pair which only correct your distance vision. Take your helmet when you order your glasses to make sure the ear pieces work. This thread has reminded me that I don't take my previous glasses when I tour on the bike. Hope I remember to do so - and never need them. For those of us with bad un-corrected vision and far from home, bike or car, there is always the possibility of losing or ruining our glasses. Doesn't happen often, but when it does, you are really screwed if you don't have a spare set.

You wouldn't happen to have a metal detector sitting around that shed? And maybe it would be worth checking out some of the cheap generic drug store glasses for those places and times where there is a higher risk of breaking or losing glasses.

Use the little elastic strap to ear pieces that goes behind the head. Alternatively, never do work which could cause you to lose your glasses.

Sometimes people will ask, "Have you lost your mind?"

My reply: "Can't lose what you never had..."

Of all the things I have lost in my lifetime, I miss my mind the most.

The good ones all get used.

But how do you tell the "good" used ones? Is it the age or the mileage?

One mentor used to tell me, "As the arteries harden, the mind softens."

I seem to have lost my marbles. Don't know if I should be looking for them though.
