Cool Schuberth C3 Chin Strap Fix

I just bought the Schuberth C3 and love everything except the bear-trap ratchet chin-strap device that cut into my chin.

I solved it by getting my wife's sewing machine out and stitching a strap-cover from fleece material and pony-tail "scrunchies".

Really very comfortable and it actually looks like it was part of the design.

I wonder why they opted to not use the "latch" of the previous helmet(that I like & use now!) ? It functions easily! I tried on this C3 & found the strap at first try to release to be a real fumbly affair.
