    How wide? I'm a D width and the SIDI Onroads fit well and have remained waterproof in south florida downpours for four years.

    Thumbs up

    The oxtars I just bought are nice and wide. I use heavy backpacking socks in the winter and running cotton socks in the summer. These have been very good for me. I didn't specify width in my boots but these are big feeling.

    Rocky makes a gore-tex lined engineer boot that I like. I've always worn engineer boots. At a discount store they are quite reasonable in price. Got mine at the Boot Box in Meadville, PA. One caution, don't believe the sizes. I nornally wear a 9D but like wide boots just for riding. I ended up with a 10 1/2 W and am very comfortable.

    Danner's 8" Acadia boot is ventilated, waterproof and will last years. It is reinforced where we need reinforcement, very comfortable to walk or hike in. It has laces ( not good if you have a chain). They make an insukated one for year round use. You can stand up on your pegs with no problem. I have worn these in heavy rain on an RT and on a GS and never had wet feet. Cruiserworks are very comfortable and waterproof thru the first set of soles but has a fiberboard shank that will not hold up to standing up on pegs very long.

    I have also bought Chippewa motorcycle trooper boots; but they are 17" high and you look like a storm trooper with them.

    Take a look here: http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street...oots_2013.html. The reviewer claims that the boots by First Gear, TCX, and Alpinestar tend to be wide. He also identifies the brands that tend toward narrow. Was thinking about the First Gear "Kili" boots myself, just for this reason.

    I have had my Daytona Travel Star GTX for the past 2 years (I usually wear a size 12 in double E width (EE)) ands as soon as I tried them on at the dealer in Montreal, I was sold. They are as comfortable as a pair of old slippers. Rode in the rain several times without any issues, my feets remained dry.

    These boots are not inexpensive but in my experience worth every penny.

    Please see their website;

    My Gaerne Oiled Balance boots fit my 8.5 EEEE feet quite nicely. I must admit they haven't stayed totally waterproof but I'm not sure that many actually do...

    Daytona boots are sold in the US by https://shop.helimot.com/shopping/sh...torcycle+Boots which is lucky for me as he is local. The Road Star GTX boots come explicitly in wide and narrow widths.

    Available in not only wide widths but also half sizes.

    All day comfort - enjoying mine very much this summer - and staying dry!
