    New DIY Thread in the DIY subforum - replacing a rear drive bearing

    Thanks to Mike Jankowski for the detailed writeup on doing the main (aka crown) bearing replacement on a hexhead rear-drive ('05-'09, but other years are very similar.) It's a great read and even if you don't do it - knowing what has to be done may prove handy in the future!

    All the info needed with nice photos.

    For those of us who haven't yet had the chance- why the specific bearing part number choice compared to any others that might work?
