I think the word "contest" might be keeping some folks from joining in. Maybe, Mileage log or Mileage tracker will get more involvement. Keep sMiling. John

    From March 25 to November 13, 2013 I rode a total of 27,562 km.
(that's 17,088 miles to you, eh)
Not a huge number when you consider climate, full-time job etc.
It works out to about 130 klix per day over 210 days.
When I retire in a year or so, I expect that number to increase significantly.
It's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it.

I agree. Why participate in a "contest" when you have zero chance of doing well?

I do hope to get in a decent season of riding in 2014. I am working out at the Y three days a week to get into shape for long road trips. I'll start the season with two new tires on my RT. I will try to put a lot (by my standards) of miles on the RT and then maybe trade it in on a new F800GT. By then I'll have decided whether that makes sense.

In any case, I won't obsess over how many miles I do.
