After decades of riding them, I'm finally painting them. Motorcycles. As they are a new series of work, I've decided to launch them as limited edition prints available through a new site:
Oil & Piston
Along with the site, as expected, there's a new facebook page.
The first finished painting of the series might be of particular interest.
Punk's Promise, 28" x 42", Oil on Canvas
This was Mike Berlien's bike. It now sits in my garage. Someday it will run again. For now, it's another kind of inspiration.
Gold, 20" x 24", Oil on Canvas
Trudy... you may have seen her on advrider or elsewhere. 'Earwig' has been massaging this bike for decades. It is stunning.
A little dream, 30" x 30", Oil on Canvas
This poor neglected 1965 Benly 150 likely will never be restored, but the son of the previous owner will never let it go.
More paintings are coming and I've got my eyes open for other interesting bikes with stories to tell. There's a 1972 Husqvarna CR250 replica waiting for my attention in a barn not far from here. And then there's that /2 in Marin I really should paint...
For pricing on prints, a little more information, and to place an order, please visit the site. This is a 'soft launch' and all prints are currently 20% off.
Thank you!
Side note: It's funny to me that people might know me as a web guy. I first got into the web work as a means to an end, to promote the artwork. The artwork has always been the primary pursuit, even if the mortgage didn't always agree.3
