I almost hate to mention this, but another contributor to vibration is if the oil is overfilled. Since you stated the problem started after you had the bike serviced, it is worth checking especially since your original mechanic seems marginally capable.
I'm curious as to how overfilling with oil would cause engine vibration.

Also, I fired my previous mechanic and found one that did the adjustments so the buzz is now barely perceivable and likely wouldn't need heavier bar ends.
I have put the Maniac Salamander "pounders" on 2 of my RT's. You will no longer have any vibration issues at any speed. Put them on and you will be very happy...

I'm speaking from experience, and it was not grossly overfilled. Vibration was very evident over 3500rpm. I drained oil down to just below top of the sightglass and the vibes were gone.
