Met up with the builder of this bike, 'BeamerGlide', in Daytona mid 90s. It was a beautiful build and attracted alot of attention...
He was from Oklahama I believe.

Yes indeed. He saw we were on BMWs, and said you need to ride my XA. He already had it out, so he fired it up for me. What a wonderful day.

Oh... I must have missed that bike on my last visit to Wheels Through Time.

these are now being built by Nathan Mende of Boxerworks in Athens, GA. He is trying to "productize" them...

I'd buy one... it looks like a well thought out machine. We know the engine/drive train is reliable. And we know how to maintain it. So what's not to like (without getting into the personal aesthetics of it).

Note that in one the Roundel is covered with tape. The bike was apparently taken to a trade show where representatives of die Mutterschiff took umbrage with it's appearance on something not originating in M??nchen.
