Could the steel interconnect brake line be swapped? That would put the bend towards the rear, closer to the center of the fender.

Shouldn't the metal brake line be above the fender and closer to the fork tubes?

I tried putting the bend nearest the forks, the bend that goes to the calipers are totally at the wrong angle, i would have to bend the brake line fearing putting a kink in it rendering it useless. looking at the pics of the other bikes, make me think the guy i bought the calipers from, bent the line to put it in the box, all was still connected when he shipped the calipers. i gues i will try to reverse and tweek the line next weekend, atleast the conversion worked as expected. Thanks all.

BTW, on my 86 R80, the brake line goes under the fender.
BMW R bike rider, horizontally opposed to everything...
With the price of a new hard line at less than $16.00, I would replace it, or buy enough parts to run a flex line to either caliper.
