Falling Leaf Rally

We will leave on Thursday evening, plan is to stay just before SL and arrive on Friday morning.

I'll be leaving at noon Thursday and 1st stop will be Countryside BMW. Plan to stop around St Louis and catch the v-p debate.

Potosi weather forecast continues to look awesome.

Friday - Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. Northeast wind around 9 mph.
Friday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Southeast wind around 7 mph.
Saturday - Partly sunny, with a high near 77.
Saturday Night - Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 76.
Sunday - Night Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Tip of the hat to the Gateway Riders club on a successful Falling Leaf Rally . Had a wonderful time and kept the chill off with the free firewood. Missed catching the anvil. What a show that is, the anvil taking off like a rocket. Plan to be back next year. Also picked up a BMW camp chair for $10 from Gateway BMW.

Thanks to Gateway Riders for a great rally, curvy roads ,beautiful leaves just right temps, great camping it was fun. The rain held off until I was in my tent and stopped just before morning ,a great time again Thanks

This is Roger Mansfield's R75/5 which is running nicely after all the effort he has put into saving it over the last few years

This is Rick and Dave from St.louis. We were poking around examining a wierd electrical issue on Rick's R100RS. One of the other Airheads, Tim from St.louis, found a brush hung up in it's guide on the alternator stator.

As you can see, the tent city is smaller than in past years, but I think everybody had a good rally, and there were no disasters that I know of .

Another fine rally! Great seeing all of our friends around the camp fire. Always good to see our Airhead buddies.

Camping was good,weather good, BMW branded folding chair for $10 wow what's not to like....Well this was my first time to the rally & I thought the bathroom areas sucked. Door falling off the mens john come on, doors missing inside, clean . Someone needs take care of those areas. Heck the porta potties were in better shape.

FLR is awesome. Could'nt ask for a friendlier group of people. That was the quietest fri/sat night
Enjoyed hanging out with the milers both nights. They pass food around the fire all night

Glad it stopped raining before time to pack up sun morning.

We agree but there is little we can do. The grounds are owned by the Potosi Lion's Club and they don't have much money. It's not likely they will bulldoze the bathrooms (what needs to happen) and build new ones. We as a club can't afford to do that for them.

Thanks everyone-had a great FLR again this year! I think I can safely say the /5 is officially a "rider" and the "major combat phase" is over. Especially since the James A. "tightness" decree!

Thanks to everyone out there that gave advice, assistance,info,etc. to get this one back on the road. I plan on keeping her for a long time. Looking forward to replacing the seals and all the little stuff so I won't have to mop up after every ride.
