The U.S.S. Philippine Sea was chosen for Neil ArmstrongÔÇÖs burial at sea ceremony. Our son is a Petty Officer First Class aboard the ship. Unfortunately he didn't get to witness the event; I guess someone has to make sure things stay "ship shape" He was aboard for this bit of history though.

As a member of "ship's company" on USS Iwo Jima, I have witnessed many burials-at-sea...all honorable veterans....but not a REAL American hero......
