When you say "tapered grips", what bike are you referring to? The only bike (so far) that we have had to accommodate with really highly tapered grips is the CanAm Spyder RS model. The grips on that bike taper a full inch, which is a bit much for the new SS's to stretch. Otherwise, others that are tapered [like those on my 2011 R1200RT] usually stretch just enough to fit with the new material.

I have had CTS release surgery in both hands(2001 & 2002) & was able to resume riding after the surgery. My hands are small/male & anything that adds diameter to the OEM grips is out as I don't need larger there, thus the OEM (as found on my R1150R)are what works for me best.
Whats out there that keeps the OEM size, yet actually reduces vibration?

I do find that riding with a less then "death grip" on the grips helps maintain better comfort & still have good control. I also wear thin poly wicking glove liners much as sold for skiing, etc., inside my leather gloves to isolate vibration. I wear winter workgloves year round just for vibration. I saw a pr. of "vibration gloves on Duluth's website just now when looking at the sideclip suspenders there. They have a strap that wraps around your wrist-exactly what you don't want when your carpal tunnel nerve is sensitive to any further touching/rubbing/pushing etc.!
I did buy a pair of the "CT gloves " at a rally but they don't help me-good but not great idea IMO.

Oh yeah, for you penny-pinchin' cheapskates - they're under $10...

Mine have been on my bike for 50,000 and are still in good shape.

    SteveAikens-

Hey Steve. . . . . . .if you get tired of your GP's soaking up water, not very effectively conveying the heat of your heated grips through to your hands, wearing out before their time, or having a hassle installing them, only to feel them "migrate" around your OEM grips. . . . . . .give my Original Beemer Buddies a whirl. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

    Best,
