I need clarification. I have no idea what this means.

    average fuel consumption

    2005 K1200LT
Can't get the AVERAGE FUEL CONSUMPTION to read correctly.
It will reset to 200 mpg and then read down to 16mpg.
The RESIDUALRANGE does not read out correctly also.
The computer "thinks" the bike is getting 16mpg, when in fact it is in the 44 mpg.

Are you parking it on the sidestand? According to the manual, this can make that number read incorrectly:

    reset

Ted, I have tried to reset on the center stand, side stand, and going down the road, full tank, 3/4 tank. The gas gauge is working and the low fuel light comes correctly.
