Question for K-bike crash bar gurus

...I am looking for a set of crash bars for a 1992 K75 standard, with or without HWY pegs, chome or black, doesn't matter....

I know that the "standard" bars won't work on an RT, but what about the other way around? If someone had RT crash bars will they work on the standard but just stick out a little more at the top where the horizontal part comes out to clear the lowers?

or.....has anyone made K100 crashbars fit a K75?

IIRC, The RT bars have an offset at the top so the bar willpass through the fairing lower with no cutting. They should work on your K75. However, those protection bars are near useless and only complicate servicing the biks.

Thanks....and I know about the useless ;-)

I am setting the bike up for a friend and the only reason we need them is he wants to put on some highway pegs. If anyone knows an easier and cheaper way to add highway pegs to a K75 Standard, I'm all ears!

How about using the special bolts (P/N 46 71 2 303 080) for crash guards by mounting the highway pegs direct to them?
