I'd be willing to bet it'd help!

When I replaced the pads on my R90, the old (presumably original) ones felt like tree bark. Literally. I could brake off little chunks with my thumb nail and it felt really spongey. Then again, this bike sat halfway in the elements for the previous 25 years.

This bike definately spent some time sitting in the elements (judging from the paint on the top of the tank) . .I'll put some new pads on order ..can't hurt the braking.
