    Looking for vintage parts.

    If any one out there can help me with ideas where to find parts for a 1958 R50
    I would really appreciate it.

    I'm looking for a set of carbs this bike. I believe the part numbers are;
    13 11 00 390 77 for the LH
    13 11 00 390 76 for the RH

    I looked at Hucky's, Blue moon cyle and Bench Mark Works LLC but they are very expensive.
    If possible I would like to buy a used set, but I don't know where to look for it.

    Thanks!

    I don't know of many used part sources for pre '70 bikes. I would suggest that you put an ad on the IBMWR marketplace and see if you get lucky with someone. You might want to post the carb number as in 1/24/45-46, etc., rather than those part numbers. I think people recognize this more than the part numbers.

    Try Ebay, there is usually someone parting out a vintage BMW.

    Vintage carb prices have taken a giant leap the last few years. It wasn't that long ago that you could pick up a new pair for under $500. I once got a pair for under $300. Today you are likely going to pay $500 for a single carb.

    As longridgebuilder said, you can sometimes get lucky in ebay. When buying used don't forget to factor in the price of a rebuild kit to your total cost.

    Bench Mark Works - Great Service

    I'll say this, Bench Mark Works is a great place to get parts from. You can call for advice, you can talk to a real live person, and get a new part. Had a snafu once with the mailing address, and they even sent a new shipment without getting the new ones that they sent to me back. And I know it's not BS, becuase the first order made it to me after they sent the second one, so that says a lot!

    +1

    Support Vech and Bench Mark Works! Help them stay in business. Without them we would be in serious trouble keeping our old BMWs running.
