If it were me, about 2 miles less than the dealers to get it replaced.

Not much in the center, so unless you have endless corners on the 800 mile route, I would replace prior.
you might have some miles, but not 800. and most certainly not 800 of on-the-road-touring miles. honestly, i'm a bit surprised you even bothered to ask for opinions on that one.

If I had 10k miles on my PR2s, I'd be riding on the rims for the last 3000 miles.
You got your money out of these.
I replace tires before they are worn to the max since they begin to handle poorly in the corners long before then. I get about 75% of the life of the tire and then change. New tires are magical and so much fun. I ride for fun, so I change tires more often than most.

When you replace those old rim protectors you'll wonder why you waited so long. Nothing like the feel of some brand new tires... ahhh!
To answer your question, I'd say "last week".

I got similar mileage on my K12RS. What I have found is that from when the wear bars just reach the surface, (time to replace) you have about 500 miles of conservative riding to the chords are showing. I think you are pretty well past where the TWI show and are,if you want to ride it to metal, less than 200 miles from that point.
The other rule of thumb is, if you have to worry about your tires, you should have replaced them as they have become a distraction.

I routinely get 10,000 miles out of a set of Michelin PR2's.
But not 11,000.

Basically, right now you are running the contact patch of a slick. You have no tread contact left in the center section of the tire. I highly suggest you think about changing them, immediately. JMHO....![]()

Ah, but the BEST dry traction is with a slick. Worst wet traction, so as long as it doesn't rain, he's got a great tire!

Thanks for the responses. This was my first pair of PR 2's having had Z-4's before. The Z-4's would show cords before you knew they were done. I actually did get caught in the rain on Saturday, and these tires still felt solid. However, I did make an appointment for new tires!

good decision...
for future decisions on the PR2's, follow the grooves towards the center...there are horizontal wear bars crossing the groove in two places...I have to imagine the ones closer to the center of tire are even with the rest of tire...or gone.

I can get 10K out of PR2's...............but I would have to order 3 more sets to do it. Mine 1st set was toast in 2,750
